Douglas Lake Ranch and its various private lakes have long been regarded as the premier private trophy trout fishery in British Columbia. The ranch boasts several private lakes including Stoney Lake, located at the lodge’s doorstep, Minnie Lake, Crater Lake and others. These lakes offer some of the finest stillwater fly-fishing found in British Columbia with rainbow trout in the 3-10 pound class.
Prime fishing time on the lakes of Douglas Lake Ranch is during the months of May and June. This is the time after ice-off, when lakes are coming back to life after winter hibernation and fish are actively hunting the abundant insect life. During the summer months you’ll enjoy warm temperatures and good fishing. In the Fall months, up until early November, is when the fish feed heavily before the impending winter.
During your stay at the ranch you’ll have fishing access to both Stoney and Minnie lakes. Their structure and aquatic life lends to the perfect scenario for fly-fishing. Combine trophy sized rainbow trout willing to slurp flies and a stunning rolling ranch land backdrop and you have the perfect British Columbia stillwater experience!
