Fishing Info | Salmon Fishing in Haida Gwaii

Haida Gwaii, also known as the Queen Charlotte Islands, is home to the best salmon and halibut fishing grounds anywhere in the world. The rich waters are home to an abundance of herring and needlefish, creating a ecosystem rich in marine life, whales and of course salmon and halibut. The lodge boasts many fish in the 40’s, 50’s and 60’s along with their record, a 73 pounder!

fishing haida gwaii review

“This was my first trip with Avid Sportfishing and it was spectacular! The trip planning was well done with all details handled superbly by Chromer Sport Fishing. Tara and Timo handled the meals and lodging in a very friendly and accomplished manner. Our guide, Jody, was not only extremely knowledgeable but also entertaining, regaling us with many stories of the area and his personal experiences. The fishing was better than anything that I have ever experienced. My brother and I left with a catch of spring salmon, red snapper, ling cod, rockfish, and halibut. The filleting, freezing and packaging of our large catch was very professionally done. Neil and Kristi are very hardworking, dedicated and engaging. They go out of their way to provide the very best for their guests”
