Our hassle free Fall salmon packages in Squamish include guided fishing, accommodations and transportation from Vancouver. We put together these trips as easy to enjoy adventures minus and big travel plans. We’ll pick you in Vancouver and drive to Squamish, BC for full days of guided fishing combo’ed with accommodations at either the comfortable Howe Sound Inn or Sunwolf Cabins.
Fall salmon fishing on the Squamish River picks up in mid September as the first targetable numbers of fish enter the river system. On odd years (2013, 2015, 2017, etc.) we do have a run of Pink salmon that show up in mid August. If you’re interested in fishing for chum and coho salmon then you’ll want to plan your trip for late September through until mid November. October is typically the best month for salmon fishing on this system. There is also the opportunity to target trout, there are some beautiful rainbows and big bull trout in these waters! The fish we do here is walk-n-wade and during the Fall months we focus on fishing the sections of river closest to the ocean, targeting clean chrome fish as they come off the saltwater. Chum salmon can be in the 10-20 pound range, when they climb on to the fly their power becomes evident quite quickly! We recommend the Squamish package to people looking for a true wilderness experience on the beautiful coastal rivers of southern British Columbia.
Located about 90 minutes east of Vancouver is the Harrison River which boasts some of the finest river salmon fishing in southwest British Columbia. These are fishing and accommodation packages suited for either conventional gear anglers or fly fishing anglers who are looking for a BC fishing experience packed with action. Guiding and accommodations are included in these easy to enjoy packages.
Package pricing is based on a group of two. We’re more than happy to accommodate smaller or larger groups, email or call for a quote. We can also include transportation and airport pick up.
We’ve packaged our Britsh Columbia Fall salmon fishing trips to make for easy travel plans. You’ll stay in comfortable accommodations at the Coast Hotel Chilliwack. Hotel has an onsite restaurant, bar and full amenities making it an excellent option. On each day of fishing our guide will pick you up at the hotel lobby, making for a hassle free vacation!
The main draw on the Harrison River is the enormous return of Chinook (king) salmon that the river sees every year. There are two major salmon runs of Chinook that can targeted on these packages; the Summer Fraser River Chinook run and Fall Harrison River Chinook run. Summer run Chinook are commonly caught from the middle of July through to early September and will range in size from 10 to 40 pounds. Since we are a short distance from the ocean, the Fraser’s Chinook are in mint condition. They are commonly caught by bar-fishing (a static method that employs the use of spinning glos), or by float fishing with a variety of natural or artificial baits. Pulling plugs and hanging spoons will also work at the right time and in the right place. Salmon fishing the Harrison river for the fall run of Chinooks is very productive. In general, the Harrison Chinook are larger than their summer counterparts and can reach weights of 60 pounds or more! These Chinook salmon are also caught by bar-fishing during October, hanging spoons or pulling plugs. With the right conditions, the fall run of Chinooks can be targeted by fly anglers – a seriously worthy challenge for the ardent fly angler. There are also large runs of chum and coho salmon on the Harrison River. If you’d like to combine your salmon fishing package with a day of sturgeon fishing just let us know, that can easily be accommodated at no extra charge. We recommend these package to anglers in search of Chinook salmon and also angler who would rather fish with conventional gear (not fly fishing).
“Really enjoyed the fishing and Squamish accommodations and surroundings were all spot on. Logan was very helpful and a smashing guy also, give him my best regards. I hated leaving it, such a wonderful place to visit and I will be back, also loved the photos as I had very few, too busy catching fish and enjoying the beauty of the place.”
“Our guides Yos and Pat treated us to great company, lots of laughs, top-notch gear and just an all-around positive experience. These guys went out of their way to make everything right and worked their butts off to get us into some fish. Very patient teachers of spey casting and reading the water. I recommend them to anyone who loves fly fishing, regardless of your skill level.”
“”We contacted Chromer at short notice for two days salmon fishing in the Vancouver area, and they were able to put us onto some great chum salmon fishing. Their equipment was top notch and they were prepped for every eventuality. We each caught several large salmon on both days and rounded off the trip, with some rainbow trout and char higher up the valley. A great extra for us! We would highly recommend Chromer Sport Fishing to anyone in the Vancouver on business looking for a great side trip””
“Hi Yos, fishing was brilliant and Marc was first class guide, could not have got a better person for the job. Would recommend your business to anybody. Cheers for realizing a DREAM. Thanks again!”
