In Campbell River Coastal Wilderness Adventures offers year-round salmon fishing charters for all five species of Pacific salmon. Mid May through late October are the prime for a Campbell River fishing trip. Mid may through mid September we target chinook (king) salmon, towards late July and through mid September there is the opportunity for coho, pink and sockeye salmon depending on run size for each year, then mid September through to end of October is prime time for the last run of chum salmon. Campbell River really does enjoy one of the longest salmon fishing seasons on Vancouver Island.
Water conditions in the Campbell River area are very protected, rarely are their rough sea conditions, making Campbell River a nice place to take a family fishing or those not interested is some of the bigger water found elsewhere on the BC coast. Some of the best fishing is minutes from where Coastal Wilderness Adventures have their boats moored, but for the more adventurous anglers you can explore the further reaches. Wildlife flourishes in the Campbell River area and it’s not uncommon to see whales and other marine mammals while fishing.
