Where is Haida Gwaii?

Haida Gwaii is a set of islands, made up of two main islands, Graham Island in the north and Moresby Island in the south and about 150 other smaller islands. Haida Gwaii is located on the northern coast of British Columbia, about 1.5 hours flying time from Vancouver.

How do we get there?

All the all-inclusive Haida Gwaii fishing packages we offer include flights from Vancouver. Flights depart from Vancouver Airport’s South Terminal, a small terminal that has shuttle service from the main terminal (YVR). Flying time is approximately 1.5 hours. Depending on what lodge you are going to there are two main airports in Haida Gwaii, Sandspit located on Moresby Island and Masset located on Graham Island.

We're looking for an all-inclusive trip, what do they usually include?

Every Haida Gwaii fishing package is a little different, depending on what lodge you choose. Most lodges include flights from Vancouver, guided fishing, lodge accommodations and meals. Some lodges like Langara Island Lodge includes alcohol, not all do though. When you’re shopping around for a trip it’s important to ask exactly what and what isn’t included.

How much do Haida Gwaii fishing packages cost?

Again, totally depends what fishing package you’re interested in. On of our most value conscience packages is at Escott Sport Fishing, with trips starting in in the $4200 CAD range. On a more luxurious package, like the ones offered at Langara Island Lodge, you’re looking at a starting price point of about $5500 CAD.

What are the water conditions usually like in Haida Gwaii?

Most often during the summer months Haida Gwaii fishing is on pleasant waters, but that can change. Lodges are often strategically placed in areas that offer protected fishing grounds. The waters of Haida Gwaii can sometimes take a turn for the worst but very rarely are fishing days missed. If you get queasy on the water, remember to take non-drowsy Gravol well before getting on the water.
