Fraser River – Upper Section

A sturgeon fishing adventures on the remote stretches of the upper Fraser canyon, an area know for having greatest sturgeon fishing found anywhere in the world. Trips depart from Chilliwack, Yale and Lytton, depending on where the best fishing is.

Summer Sturgeon Fishing in British Columbia

Summer is when most people plan their BC fishing trips. Weather and river conditions are consistent and fishing on the lower and upper Fraser River is fantastic. This is a great time of year to plan Fraser River fishing trip, just remember to book early as spots fill up fast.

Fall Sturgeon Fishing in British Columbia 

The Fraser and Harrison Rivers are fairly consistent right into the Fall months for big fish. Things tend to slow down in mid November as sturgeon gorge on the spawned out carcasses of migrating salmon. Combo’ing salmon fishing and sturgeon fishing is a very popular option this time of year.

Spring Sturgeon Fishing in British Columbia

This is when we we high water on the Fraser River due to melting snow. This gets sturgeon moving, out of their winter lull period and actively feeding again. It’s not uncommon to have double-digit fish days on the Fraser River in the spring months as the fish become very active.


These fishing trips take place in Chilliwack, BC, located an east 90 minute drive east of Vancouver. You will need your own transportation to Chilliwack.


We’re do your sturgeon trips leave from?  

Our sturgeon trips are in the town of Chilliwack, about 90 minutes east of Vancouver. Our guides will pick you up at the Coast Hotel, there is plenty of parking and it’s easy to find, we’ll send you directions once you book.

What about fishing licenses?  

You will need a basic freshwater fishing license with a White Sturgeon Conservation license. Both are available online and  upon booking we’ll send you a link to the government website that sells licenses. You buy one there, print it off and bring it with you for your day of fishing. It’s really easy to do and takes less than 5 minutes.

What do we need to bring?  

Nothing, all equipment and gear is included.  There are coolers onboard with ice to so feel free to bring lunch and refreshments.

Can you accommodate larger groups?

The maximum we can accommodate on a boat is 4 people. If you have a larger group it is better to use two or more boats. This gives everyone way more fishing time and fishing close to one another on the river is easy.
