We make enjoying a Vancouver salmon fishing charter super easy. Convenient location, comfortable sport fishing boats and unbeatable local fishing experience have made this a favourite Vancouver fishing trip! Choose from half-day or full-day charters. Charter boats are private, only you and your party onboard. On arrival your guide will meet you at the charter office and walk you down to the boat.
From there you’re off for the day! Often we are fishing 20 minutes from the boat moorage, but have the ability to run further to put you into the best salmon fishing near Vancouver. This is a big difference in our Vancouver salmon charter program, allowing for more lengthy runs to the best fishing spots on any particular day. Full day charters start at 7:00 AM, while half day charters have 7:00 AM or 1:00 PM start times.

INSHORE FISHING ON LIGHT TACKLE
You can go fishing for salmon in Vancouver 365 days a year! That’s right we have year-round saltwater fishing here with the best dates being February to September. Local waters welcome all five species of Pacific salmon, including chinook, coho, chum, pink and sockeye! There is also some limited bottom fishing locally as well.
We don’t fish heavy tackle for salmon, instead you’ll be using light rods, maximizing fun when fishing! Single action fishing reels and longer rods, with light lines, offer a unique way to catch salmon. The bites we get are lots of fun, peeling line off of reels! A variety of tackle is is used, including bait and lures. Fishing is done with downriggers, trolling small areas of coastline, catching salmon as they swim by.

All boats have large deck space and bathrooms onboard.
All charters are private, no shared party boats, just your group with your experienced guide. For larger groups, that can’t be accommodated on one boat, we offer multiple boats. BEST TIMES FOR VANCOUVER SALMON FISHING
The best salmon fishing dates in Vancouver BC is from early April to late September. During this time you’ll have the opportunity at catching all 5 species of Pacific salmon. September is when we see some of our biggest chinook (king) salmon in local waters. Summer salmon fishing dates do book up early. There can be solid Winter fishing as well, for chinook salmon from December to March.
From December to March the waters of BC’s southern coast play host to Winter chinook salmon. These salmon are here to feed on herring and other bait fish. Winter fishing can be good for chinook salmon in the 5-10 pound range. There is also ample opportunity to catch prawns and crabs on full-day charters during the Spring and Winter months.
Summer is a popular time to enjoy a fishing charter. For good reason, it’s when we see some of the better saltwater fishing in Vancouver. Summer months offer nice weather and generally nice ocean conditions for a fishing charter. There are 5 species of Pacific salmon that migrate through local waters. On any summer day you can catch chinook, coho, pink, sockeye and chum salmon near Vancouver.
WHEN IS THE BEST TIME FOR SALMON FISHING?
You can go fishing for salmon in Vancouver all year long, but the best months for fishing are March to September. Spring offers great fishing for Chinook Salmon, Summer offers a variety of salmon species and September is when we see some of our biggest salmon locally!
Are fishing licenses needed?
Yes, you will need a Saltwater Fishing License. When you book your trip we'll send you a link to buy you license online.
Is food included?
No food is not included, but boats have coolers onboard and you are welcome to bring whatever food and drink you'd like.
WHERE ARE THE CHARTER BOATS LOCATED?
Boats are moored on Granville Island, minutes from all major downtown hotels. Driving time from downtown Vancouver to the boat moorage is less than 10 minutes. This is Vancouver's most convenient fishing trip, with fishing right from downtown!
How much does a license cost?
Fishing licenses prices are based on country of residency. A one day licence is $6.00 to $9.00 CAD, so very affordable.
Are there bathrooms onboard?
Yes, all boats have bathroom facilities onbaord. This is key and makes for a comfortable day for all anglers.
CAN WE KEEP THE FISH WE CATCH?
Of course, your catch is yours to take home. British Columbia saltwater fishing regulations do change, so keep in mind not all salmon are open to retention during some portions of the year. In the Winter months you can also catch crab and prawns with us.
How Do we Get Our Fish Home?
We will clean and bag your fish. It is best to take your fish home in a cooler. Sport caught fish can be brought home to the USA without issue.
