On Tofino’s doorstep is one of the largest migratory paths for salmon in BC. Often an offshore fishery, the salmon fishing off of Tofino has grown increasingly more productive over the past ten years and now is considered one of the most consistent saltwater fishing areas in British Columbia. Tofino is now one of the hottest destinations for saltwater fishing.

It is an easy destination to reach by car, the fishing is consistently killer about seven months of the year and there are great hotels and services for the traveller. The west coast of Vancouver Island has rich bottom fishing, among some of the best found in British Columbia. Fishing for halibut, ling cod and rockfish is consistent all summer long. Fishing in Tofino offers anglers an experience that few places in BC do, a true offshore fishery.  Very healthy bottom fishing either close to the coast or a little further offshore gives you plenty of variety. Halibut average from 10-50 pounds, the perfect size for eating.

Tofino is located on the west coast of Vancouver Island. It’s very easy to get to from Vancouver by either car or by daily flights servicing the town. If you’re looking for a drive-to fishing package, then Tofino is as good as it gets!

FAQ's

What about fishing licenses?  

You will need a fishing license. Licenses are very affordable and are priced based on if you’re a canadian resident or not. To keep salmon you will also need to include a pacific salmon stamp. All anglers 16+ years need a license.

Where do I get a fishing license?  

Upon booking we’ll send you a link to the government website that sells licenses. You Print it off and bring it with you for your day of fishing. It’s really easy to do and takes less than 5 minutes.

What happens to the fish we catch?  

Guides will clean, fillet & bag all your fish for you to take home and enjoy. If you’d like to have them vacuum packed, frozen or boxed for transport, there is Trilogy Fish Company in Tofino that offers all those services with a quick turnaround time.

Where are the boats moored?  

The guide boats are moored right in the village of Tofino, close to all major hotels and ample parking is available.

When is fishing the best in Tofino?  

Tofino enjoys a long fishing season, one of the longest on the coast as the “salmon highway” is right on its doorstep. Late May to late September will offer you great fishing for salmon as well as halibut.

Are there bathrooms onboard?  

Yes, all our boats have bathroom facilities.
